Makeba Boateng is an acclaimed archivist, independent researcher-curator in fashion and textiles, and a respected authority on African fashion heritage. As the founder of Fashion Forum Africa (FFA)—a licensed charity and non-governmental organisation—she leads a movement dedicated to researching, cataloguing, and preserving the legacy of iconic African designers, textiles, and fashion narratives.
Her leadership also extends to her role as Managing Director and CEO of MCPR Africa, a global communications consultancy that has represented some of the biggest names in West African entertainment and global creative industries. She is also the founder of Keba Clothing, a pioneering Ghanaian fashion brand whose collections have been featured on international platforms, including Top Shop’s flagship store on Oxford Street in London.
About Fashion Forum Africa (FFA)
Fashion Forum Africa (FFA) is a registered charity and NGO working at the intersection of fashion, culture, education, and economic development. Its mandate is clear:
- To research, catalogue, conserve and promote iconic African fashion, textiles, and designers—past, present, and future—across Africa and the diaspora.

Notable Achievements:
- Strategic Partner to the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum, London: FFA was instrumental in securing the presence of Ghanaian fashion legend Kofi Ansah in the V&A’s landmark Africa Fashion exhibition (July 2022).
- Thought Leadership: Makeba Boateng was a speaker at ITC SheTrades, presenting insights on Ghana’s fashion market, consumer behavior, and emerging trends.
- Cultural Exchange: In partnership with Ghana’s Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, FFA facilitated a study exchange for the Ghana Bead Society to China, supporting knowledge transfer in jewelry craftsmanship.
